What Is It

The New Energy Tech Consumer Code

The NETCC is an independent consumer protection code administered by the Smart Energy Council and overseen by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC). It sets minimum standards for how businesses sell, quote, install and support new energy products — including battery storage systems, solar panels and associated hardware.

Approved Seller status is not automatic. Businesses must apply, demonstrate compliance with the code, and agree to be bound by its complaint and dispute resolution process. Approval can be revoked for non-compliance.

When you buy from an NETCC Approved Seller, you have rights and protections that go beyond the general Australian Consumer Law.

What It Means For You

Written Quote & Contract
You receive a clear written quote before any work begins — itemising equipment, costs, installation scope and expected savings. Nothing proceeds without your signed agreement.
10-Day Cooling Off Period
After signing a contract, you have 10 business days to change your mind and cancel without penalty. No pressure, no lock-in, no forfeited deposit.
Honest Product Information
We are required to provide accurate, evidence-based information about system performance, savings projections and payback periods. No inflated claims, no misleading comparisons.
Installation Standards
Every installation must meet Australian Standards and relevant electrical safety regulations. Our team is licensed and SAA-accredited — compliance is non-negotiable.
Warranty & After-Sales Support
We must honour all manufacturer and installation warranties, and maintain a complaints process you can actually access. You get Rhys's direct number — not a ticketing system.
Independent Dispute Resolution
If a dispute cannot be resolved directly with us, you can escalate to NETCC's independent dispute resolution scheme at no cost to you. You always have a path forward.

Our Commitment

Why We Applied for NETCC Approval

We did not pursue NETCC approval for marketing reasons. We applied because the code reflects the way we already operate — transparent quotes, honest timelines, licensed installers, and direct post-install support. Approval was a natural fit.

The battery storage industry has a trust problem. Customers are regularly sold oversized systems by companies that disappear after payment clears. The NETCC exists to draw a line between operators who take this seriously and those who do not. We are proud to be on the right side of it.

If you ever feel that we have fallen short of the code's requirements, we want to know. Contact Rhys directly — that conversation will always be taken seriously.
